Our Story – Why We Started Addy’s Barnyard Treats

At Addy’s Barnyard Treats, everything we do comes back to one simple truth: our love for animals. Both of us grew up surrounded by them — horses, livestock, poultry, and the kind of barnyard chaos that turns into lifelong memories. From an early age, animals weren’t just part of our homes, they were part of our families. That deep connection never left us, and it’s what inspired us to create something meaningful together.

For me, horses and the western lifestyle have always been in my blood. My family’s history stretches from cowboys to saddle makers to racehorse owners, so you could say the equestrian world runs through our veins. Years ago, I worked for another horse treat company, and that experience showed me how powerful something as small as a healthy treat could be in building trust and strengthening the bond between people and their horses. On top of that, I’ve always had a passion for cooking — experimenting in the kitchen, creating, and making something with my own two hands. It only made sense to combine that love of food with my lifelong love of animals.

My wife’s story adds even more heart to what we do. She grew up on a farm, surrounded by horses and livestock, where caring for animals wasn’t just a chore — it was a way of life. Her family’s background in farming taught her the values of hard work, compassion, and responsibility, and those lessons have stayed with her ever since. Together, our paths merged perfectly: my equestrian heritage and love of cooking, her farming roots and lifelong care for animals, and our shared belief that animals deserve the very best we can give them.

That’s why we started Addy’s Barnyard Treats. We didn’t just want to make another treat on the market — we wanted to make healthy, wholesome treats that owners could feel good about feeding to their animals. Every ingredient we choose is intentional, designed not only to taste great but to nourish and support the animals we love. Whether it’s a horse recovering after a long ride, a chicken curiously pecking for a snack, or a family pet waiting by the fence, these little moments of connection mean everything to us.
